Do you love bees? I have a bit of an obsession with them, since my name is Debbee! It’s even reflected in the name of my blog, Debbee’s Buzz —the buzz being all the things, places, projects and people that I love. Over the years, I’ve also shared eight posts full of bee theme ideas.

Since 2017, the UN has designated May 20th as World Bee Day. It’s purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping, and about the threats to pollinators by human activities.

Bee sure to check out the organization’s website, World Bee Day, which provides information on events and celebrations all around the world.

To mark the occasion, I’m sharing a roundup of bee theme ideas and ways to celebrate the importance of pollinators. There are party, table setting, food and beverage, gift, craft, and decor ideas.

So ladies, get your buzz on!

Bee-utiful Tables

During the spring, I’ve set a number of different tables drawing from my collection of bee theme tableware and linens. I have a lot of stuff, bee-cause I just can’t bee stopped lol!

First, was A HapBEE Birthday Table for Mr. Buzz.

Nearly every tablescape has featured these green scalloped plates (Anthropologie, retired). For hubby’s birthday, the foundation of the setting was a yellow honeycomb pattern tablecloth.

Last year, I hosted a blog hop of eight talented stylists to celebrate World Bee Day. Bee sure to check all their table and centerpiece bee theme ideas.

For World Bee Day, I set a French Inspired, Royal Bee Theme Table on a black and white striped tablecloth. A wasp catcher and other bee theme servers and decor items were used to style a centerpiece vignette.

For a simple way to set a World Bee Day table, try the Easy Fleur-de-Lis, Bee Shape Napkin Fold Tutorial. All you need is cloth napkins and rings. Don’t have bee embellished napkin rings like mine? Then, consider using faux flower rings, or even a pretty piece of ribbon tied in a bow.

Bee Theme Ideas for Spring, Summer Decor

A quick and easy way to celebrate pollinators is to add a little bee theme decor to a shelf, mantle, centerpiece, or kitchen island vignette.

These cute bee signs are just the thing and quite inexpensive. While Browsing for Spring Decor Ideas, I shared numerous bee theme ideas for decor items and hostess gifts available at stores and online.

Or, consider a quick dress-up of a chandelier or light fixture. Using faux floral garlands, ribbon and bee pot hangers, see how quick and easy it is to embellish a Bee Decorated Chandelier.

For the more craft-inspired, create a bee theme wreath to decorate a door, or hang over a mantle.

In Bee Wreath and Skep Bee-autiful DIY Inspiration, I shared three different ribbon and mesh wreaths I’ve made. I also crafted a simple skep, using a piece of Styrofoam, twine, and felt.

If you’re not so ambitious, start with a premade wreath from Home Goods (or other discounter), and simply add a few bee theme embellishments and ribbon.

Party Pollinators

Celebrating pollinators makes a great theme for a party! Think Hapbee Birthday, Was Meant to Bee bridal shower, or What Will It Bee baby shower. Honey of an idea, right?

Playing off my name, I chose a French Queen Bee theme for the first Favorite Things Party. I had a blast carrying the theme from start to finish, including Bee Party Gifts, Favors and Games.

These Elegant French Queen Bee Invitation Made with Vintage Images set the theme for the party. Made from a packaged kit, the invitations could be adapted for any type bee theme party or gathering.

Honey & Lemon Flavor Bee Theme Ideas

What’s a bee theme party or meal without some honey-infused foods and beverages?

Like this hive-shaped HapBee Birthday cake I made for my honey. Also serving as the table centerpiece, the dessert was kept fresh under a beehive cloche.

Or, this adorable little honey bear cake, that was part of Bee Theme Party Food. In the picture above, are some of the other desserts served at the party. Among the guest favorites were lemon-filled Oreo bee-decorated cookies and mini donut hives.

Made from scratch, honey-flavored cupcakes were served in sunflower wrappers and embellished with little edible bees.

In fact, the entire menu incorporated bee-inspired honey and lemon flavors. Appetizers included a honey and fig dip with toasted pita wedges, and peach and blue cheese crostini drizzled with honey. Bee still my heart!

Looking for bee theme ideas for refreshing beverages? My party guests enjoyed three different honey-infused beverages; a water, lemonade and alcoholic cocktail. Served in a hive-shaped dispenser was a sparkling honey-rosemary lemonade. For a little kick, there was a bourbon, sage and honey cocktail called a Bee Sting.

Hope life is sweet to you as we celebrate World Bee Day next week on May 20th. Bee happy my friends!
