Forsythia, daffodils and hyacinth are starting to bloom in Pittsburgh and it’s finally starting to really feel like spring. Hurrah! A perfect time to take you on an Easter home decor tour.
Last year, Easter came so early, I never had a chance to share any of my holiday and seasonal decor. In fact, other than setting tables and hanging wreaths, I never pulled out any of the rabbits, chicks, eggs and florals that usually populate the house.
Today, I’m delighted to take part in the Hop into Easter blog hop. Hosted by Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home, there’s so much to see and be inspired by! You’re sure to find at least an idea or two to incorporate into your own Easter home decor and tables.
Welcome to Debbee’s Buzz for those dropping by from Carol’s How to Use Bunnies post at Bluesky at Home. And to my regular followers, thank you for once again taking the time to visit. I have so much stuff, it’s going to be impossible to cover it all in just one post! So, join me for a few highlights of my Easter home decor and table settings.

Since starting the blog a year and a half ago, this is the now the third seasonal home decor tour I’ve taken you on. First, was how I Decorate for Christmas with a Peacock Theme. Last fall was the Not-So-Scary Halloween Decor Home Tour.
Today, spring has finally sprung and bunnies are everywhere in Easter home decor.
Welcome Spring
Wet, sometimes snowy April weather in Pittsburgh, does not lend itself to planting flowers or creating arrangements in the large black urns that flank the front door. (For a peek at the urns see DIY Reindeer Christmas Planters.)
Instead, I created a Charming Watering Can Wreath for Spring to add some seasonal curb appeal and welcome guests.
I like that regardless of when Easter falls, I can generally hang the wreath from March through April.
Come On In!
As you enter the house, the first thing to catch the eye is a petite grandmother clock. It’s the perfect spot for a large seasonal arrangement in the area next to the staircase.
I like how the dark brown in the basket works with the mahogany furniture and hardwood floors in the living and dining rooms — on either side of the entry hall.
A pair of bunnies ties in with the cream-color wainscoting and tile floor. Although they look like stone or concrete, the rabbits are actually resin. I found them years ago at my favorite home furnishing and accessory store, The Cobb. Unfortunately, the shop stopped offering home decor when the owner retired.
Most of the artificial greenery and the basket came from another local favorite, Old Allegheny. It’s a great source for Easter home decor and inspiration. I’ve taken you there on virtual tours in Browsing for Easter & Spring Decor Ideas, and Perusing Spring Open House.
Across the hall on a black chest is another bunny from The Cobb.
I decided he could stand alone; rather than creating a vignette. Filling his basket with silk flowers was the only thing I added.
Ain’t It Grand?
Across the living room, sitting on a grand piano, is a floral arrangement in a vintage crystal vase that belonged to my grandmother.
Normally, the vase if full of peacock feathers that complement the other decor accents and mural in the room.
Branches of faux dogwood, cherry blossoms, forsythia and pussy willow (Old Allegheny, Michael’s) fill the vase for spring. Another moss-covered branch with nests (matching the one in the front hall basket) serves as the focal point. A little yellow chick guards the eggs.
On the glass coffee table, is a large basket sitting on a cabbage leaf placemat. Inside is a leaping rabbit statue (Old Allegheny) that’s made of iron and very heavy. Another year, I used it as the centerpiece in, Sweet Rustic Rabbit Easter Table.
Two garlands of different faux greens, four sprays of pussy willow, and a half dozen, large white eggs (Old Allegheny) fill the basket. Quick and easy Easter home decor.
Easter Classics
During both the Easter and Christmas holidays, I fan several seasonal children’s books on the glass coffee table.
Family favorites include classics like The Velveteen Rabbit and Tales of Peter Rabbit. I also have a collection of vintage Beatrix Potter figurines received as Easter gifts from my parents long ago. At one time, they decorated my sons’ nursery. You can see them all in, Peter Rabbit & Friends Beatrix Potter Figurine Collection,
Lady Mouse was my first and still favorite figurine. Do you have a favorite Beatrix Potter book or character?
She and most of my collection were featured in last year’s tablescape, Beatrix Potter Easter Hunt in Mr. McGregor’s Garden.
How many Beatrix Potter characters can you spot and name in the picture above?
Bunny Topiaries
Also decorating the living room is a spring display I created in and around another dark mahogany basket — originally my son’s Easter basket. It’s well-loved and a little worn, but I hesitate painting it.
All the greenery, silk tulips and decorative eggs were collected over the years (Old Allegheny). Could you tell that the rabbit topiaries (The Cobb) are actually candles? Even the bases are made of wax.
I’ve elevated each candle in the vignette with white cupcake stands from my tableware stash.
Look closely to spot the candle wicks. Can you see them?
I’ve had the faux rabbit topiary candles for years, and never once was tempted to light them! Would you?
All those black and white speckled eggs, mixed in with the Easter home decor, go well with the black in my home’s furnishings, rugs, lamps and other interior design elements.
Good Enough to Eat
During the holidays, I usually set the dining room and kitchen tables for several weeks at a time. This year, a Vintage Easter Table with Chocolate Rabbit Centerpiece is part of my Easter home decor.
Faux chocolate rabbits (Old Allegheny, Marshall’s, and TJ Maxx) look good enough to eat! Another year (when we were going to be out of town), the bunnies were part of a simple Chocolate Rabbit Centerpiece.
Who knows, next year I may incorporate some of the chocolate rabbits into a new basket vignette.
I like to mix up my decorations, florals, greenery, and tableware when putting together Easter home decor from year to year. It helps keep things fresh; particularly since I tend now to use what I already have and am not accumulating new stuff.
Two Tables Better Than One
My kitchen opens to the family room. I like to set both the table and large island with more casual, seasonal linens, dishes and centerpieces. Here’s a sneak peek of next week’s Darling Bunny Hop Table Celebrates Spring.
Leaping rabbit topiaries (The Cobb) and cupcake stands (Tuesday Morning) serve as the centerpiece on the small, round tabletop. Check back to see the bunny butt cupcakes at each place setting.
There just isn’t time to take an Easter home decor tour of the entire kitchen area; including the island bar settings, countertop vignettes and decorated shelves.
But here’s the Adorable DIY Moss Bunny Wreath with Basket of Flowers that hangs on an interior door, and is visible from the family room.
Green moss in the bunny basket frame (Marshall’s) matches the topiaries on the kitchen table. There’s also a giant moss rabbit (defunct Panache catalog) sitting on the fireplace hearth, in the adjacent family room. He’s showing some wear and tear; with the moss drying out, fading and flaking off and needs a bit of TLC.
In his basket backpack, I created an arrangement of faux cabbage, carrots (Old Allegheny) and eggs (Michaels). Some years (when serving a crowd Easter brunch buffet-style), I fill his basket with flatware wrapped in napkins.
Above, on the fireplace mantle, I frequently display my Darling Vintage Style Stuffed Easter Bunny Collection.
Best Easter Home Decor
With Easter still a few weeks away, I haven’t finished decorating the mantle and baker’s rack with my collection of stuffed rabbits.
I also bring out my favorite photos and portraits of the boys in their Easter finery. You know the pictures with them dressed in matching or coordinated outfits — the ones you love and they cringe at lol?
And, I have a couple of my sisters and I that I cherish. Mom is a great seamstress, and she made dresses and coordinated coats for us nearly every year. I love those pictures of us in our Easter bonnets, with little purses, lacy socks and patent-leather shoes.
We’ll finish up the Easter home decor tour in the basement hallway, where the boys’ artwork from nursery and elementary school is on display.
For Mother’s Day last year, I shared How to Create a Kid Keepsakes Gallery, which I rotate seasonally. It works for handmade cards and grandchildren’s work of art too.
So, even if the boys can’t be home for the holiday this year, their childhood photographs and art will evoke happy memories of many Easters past.

Debbee, just gorgeous. All the bunnies of different kinds and sizes are so sweet throughout your home. Love the front entry vignette and on into the living room. Enjoyed seeing another view of your chocolate bunny tablescape. Great to be on this hop with you.
Carol, imagine what would happen if we combined forces and all our bunnies — what fun we’d have!
That sheep artwork. How darling is that? What a treasure. I love your collections of bunnies. Too cute.
Aww thanks Katie. I hesitated including my kids artwork, so it’s lovely that you enjoyed my son’s sheep. I have a cow paper bag puppet he made too that makes me giggle.
You are the queen of florals! I adore the idea of framing your childs artwork. So cute!
Thanks so much Laura, I’ve never considered myself much of a floral arranger. I think the secret is using high quality and unique elements? It’s taken years for me to find/acquire my collection of materials. My husband is afraid that once we have grandkids, we’ll have to move to a larger house — so that I’ll have enough wall display space for their artwork!
Tons of ideas and inspiration. I totally enjoyed your tour, and your tablescape is one of my favorites.
Marty, coming from a talented designer like yourself, that’s quite the compliment — thanks!
There are so many beautiful bunnies in this post, Debbee, I don’t know which one to pin first! I love your collection and the unique way you’ve displayed them all. Everything is just gorgeous. Hugs, CoCo
It’s taken me a couple of decades to acquire all my bunnies, and it’s hard for me to pick a favorite. Plus, there’s my stuffed collection I didn’t get out in time to share in the hop. They have to be elevated on the mantle, etc. or my Sweet Scottie Dog: My Fuzzy Funny Valentine thinks they are toys for him. Now, every Easter he gets a rabbit dog toy of his own.
I love all your Easter decor! Especially the Beatrix Potter characters. Even though I can’t name them. Sweet idea to incorporate the kids art too. Everything looks so festive. Happy Easter!
Wow you have a lovely assortment of Easter deco. I especially like that tray with the painted bunnies! The tablescape with those faux chocolate bunnies is my favorite! I’ve only put out a little bit this year. Spring has sprung here too but we aren’t quite to the forsythia stage yet. That is a sure sign of spring though!
Liz, what an eagle eye you have — I didn’t even mention the tray in the picture. It’s actually part of my everyday kitchen decor (going with all my black decorative accessories). Never have actually used it as a tray, LOL! We just returned from visiting family in DC and the guys running the Cherry Blossom Race. Everything was blooming and gorgeous! When we got back home this afternoon, my forsythia was in full bloom. Going to cut a few branches tomorrow and put them on the dining room table.
You have such wonderful spring and Easter decor, Debbee…so festive for the season! I love that you keep your family’s artwork on display…pulls at the heartstrings!
As much as I love all my Easter stuff, it’s the old photos of the boys and their artwork that give me the most pleasure. They never fail to make me smile!
So many beautiful spring touches!! The watering can arrangement on your front door is darling! And I so love that you framed your kids artwork…simply perfect!!!
~Emily
I love your gorgeous bunny basket arrangements and lovely spring inspiration!
I so much enjoyed seeing your Easter decor, Debbee! You have an amazing collection of bunnies to enjoy. I was like you last year and didn’t manage to get any Easter out to enjoy. I’m glad that Easter is late this year as I’ve been able to enjoy my decorations for many weeks. I love, love that you display your children’s art and their old Easter pictures each year. That is a wonderful tradition.
Thanks so much Paula! I love decorating for the holidays but hate when Easter falls in March, right on top of St. Patrick’s Day. Glad you didn’t find it too hokie that I put out my kid’s old art and photos — since family is what the holidays are all about.
Oh, Debbee, all of your vignettes are so lovely, but it is your baskets and the creative way you styled them that are stealing the show in your home for Easter! It is always a joy to see what you are doing over at your house!
Many years I have just set my bunnies out here in there, rather than creating the basket vignettes. But, with Easter falling so late in April this year, I had the time to ‘play’ with all my stuff. It was fun styling them.
Your Easter Decorations are beautiful. The bunnies and the flowers are adorable.
I can’t pick a favorite! I love the chocolate bunnies on the dining room table, the resin bunnies in the entry… all of them are wonderful! Such great Easter decor! Love your grandkids art up too!
Thanks for taking the tour Kristin! Alas, it will be awhile before there will be grandkids, but someday I hope to add to the wall gallery with their works of art.
You have an amazing collection of bunnies! Just adorable – and so festive! I also adore the childrens’ artwork! Shelley
Love that you feature your son’s artwork! I especially love his sheep ~ adorable!
Thanks Linda, I’m delighted you enjoyed the “art.” I almost didn’t include it in the post. After Easter, I’ll update the gallery to include an entire barnyard, with a cow, pig, bee, etc.
I just love all the bunnies scattered around your home. Also love your idea of framing your sons artwork from their school days. What memories those must bring back.
Everytime I come in from the garage and head up the stairs, I pause and smile; enjoying the view.
My favorite part of this post was what you called your “Best Easter Decor.” I love things like that, things no one has but you; that are charming and personal and simply the best. That said, there was nothing in this post NOT to love! So many cute holiday touches, they all make me smile.
So sweet of you to say Jeanie — thank you! You are so right, it’s the homemade stuff, photos and items passed down in the family that are the most special.
Debbee, another fun tour of your lovely home and seasonal decor. You certainly have lots of bunnies they must take up their own place of residence in your home. I know you and I have discussed storage issues before, and somehow we seem to find room for “one” more. LOL Beautiful my friend.
Actually Kari, there is no more room — unless I part with something else! That’s why it was fun this year creating those basket vignettes; something I never did before. Even if I don’t get anything else new, mixing things up offers lots of options and ways of displaying my bunnies.
Your moss bunny with the backpack is so wonderful, you have the basket filled with perfect Spring goodies. Have a Happy Easter!
Thanks Debra. This weekend I’m thinking of spending a little time sprucing him up by adding new moss.
Debbee, you have so many great bunny and spring vignettes. I think my favorite is one of the faux green bunnies candles. No, I would never be tempted to burn them either. Happy Easter, Judith
Thanks Judith! After giving it some thought, if I could only keep one rabbit figure, it would be the giant faux rabbit — he’s going to the nursing home with me someday LOL! Second place is that adorable, little candle though. It’s really unique with lots of great details.
Debbee, You have so many great and lovely bunnies and vignettes for Easter, that I honestly can’t pick a favorite. I’ll just take one of each! As for your bunny candles, I have two candles that also don’t look like candles and I will never burn them either. Wishing you a Happy Easter!
My husband thinks I’m silly because not only do I have numerous holiday candles I never light, I have placemats for the kitchen island that are also just for show — he’s probably right! On the other hand, I use my fragile and vintage china, chrystal and serving pieces all the time, because I want it to be seen and enjoyed.
You have so many cute Easter vignettes, I don’t know where to begin! I love them all!
Thanks Angelina. This is the first year I used my bunnies in vignettes; usually they were just set here and there around the house. I really enjoyed the process — maybe because with Easter in late April I had the time to create them?
I love your bunny topiary candles, Debbie! So unusual. I have the same cabbage leaf placemats and use them all over the house; they are awesome! Love to see all your beautiful Easter decor!
Those placemats and other large cabbage leaves I have are so versatile. Several weeks ago I found the ones you are referring, 75% off at Pier 1. I think because they needed a little glue maintenance which was easily done.
Debbee, all your Easter displays are gorgeous! I can’t pick a favorite – I love them all! Happy Easter!
Thanks Michelle! I love them all too — don’t know how I’ll part with any when it’s time to downsize! Hopefully, by then I’ll have daughter-in-laws who may want a few.
Oh my goodness, this post is full of wonderful Easter inspiration Debbee! I just love it! Your baskets are so creative and you have an amazing collection of bunnies, styled in fun and creative vignettes. I also love the wallpaper in your dining room!
Like you, I didn’t pull out a lot of Easter decorations last year because it was so early, and we had a cold and snowy March. This spring has already been much springier and with Easter so late I have done a bit more this year too.
Thank you so much for hopping with us. Happy Easter!
Thank you Amber, for including me in the blog hop — I really enjoyed it! It’s the first time I’ve really styled those vignettes; never having enough time until this late Easter.
What an eye you have noticing the peacock wallpaper! You can see more about it and why I have a thing for peacocks in Exotic Peacock Tablescape Graces Formal Dining Room.
Really CUTE! I still want ALL your Peter Rabbit stuff —Ha! I still don’t know where you told me to go and look for the Peter rabbit stuff so if you get a chance I would love for you to respond to me! Your Easter tour of your home is fantastic! You are a very good decorator love it all!
Thanks Cindy, you are very kind. Thought I sent you the directions earlier, but if not — go to post Beatrix Potter Easter Hunt in Mr. McGregor’s Garden, and down to bottom after my signature. There’s a heading, Related Post Picks. There are a bunch of BP items offered via Amazon if you click on any of the boxes. To find the vintage characters, you’ll have to search on eBay and Etsy. Most are about $20-$30 each. eBay UK has significantly more figurines available, but you’d have higher shipping costs.
Debbee, your Beatrix Potter tablescape is hands-down one of my all time favorites! I adore your sweet watering can wreath, too! Blessings, Cecilia
Wow, that’s quite the compliment — thanks Cecilia! Not surprised you like McGregor’s Garden tablescape and a watering can wreath, when I see your email address includes, “secret garden”!
Absolutely adorable! I’m addicted to bunnies and your spring decorating is perfection. The rabbit in the basket!!!!!!!!! Love that you’re decorating for the season instead of a holiday!
Lovely to hear from you Karen — happy to hear you enjoyed the tour. I don’t know about perfection, but so nice of you to say so! You may have noticed there are no bows tied on the baskets or around the rabbit’s necks. I did that so they don’t look like Easter bunnies and baskets. Glad you felt they looked more suitable for the spring season.
Wow! You have a wonderful Easter collection! You’ve beautifully decorated your home for the season. Happy Easter!
Thanks for stopping by Christy; lovely to hop with you!
Hi Debbee. Oh my goodness I love all of your amazing bunnies!! I really loved the faux chocolate bunny tablescape! Every thing was so beautifully put together and I especially enjoyed seeing your children’s artwork! I get so excited when my little boy paints or draws something for me, I want to keep everything! -Larissa
Thanks Larissa! I am a pack rat, especially anything with an emotional attachment. That’s why (years after my sons graduated) I have so much of their artwork, handmade cards, etc. to hang on the wall. I only recently parted with their bigger than life, paper mache birds!
Thank you for sharing at #ThursdayFavoriteThings. Pinned and shared.
Just lovey, Debbee… that door decor is so creative and sweet! Thanks for sharing at Homestyle Gathering! Hope you’ll join us tomorrow and each week!
Just discovered your linkup party. Thanks for the invite!
Thanks so much for joining us! Hope to see you each week!
Thank you for sharing at #ThursdayFavoriteThings this week. Pinned and shared.
I love all of your decor – especially the front door “wreath”! Thanks for sharing with us at the Snickerdoodle link party – this will be one of my features Saturday!
Oh Roseann, you’ve made my day! What a lovely compliment to be featured. And, very much appreciated. Wishing you a healthy April and happy Easter.
Loved each arrangement and vignette! So unique and adorable. You have quite the talent for putting them together! Happy Easter!
Thanks Cindy; I appreciate you taking the virtual tour. Last year was the first year I actually created several arrangements and vignettes. Usually I just set things here and there. I really enjoyed it! Especially fun to reimagine what I already have. A happy and healthy holiday to you too!
Everything looks beautiful! I love all of your bunnies.
Nice to meet you Elizabeth, thanks for stopping by! Happy to hear you enjoyed my holiday decor.
Debbee, fun to see your bunnies! I’ve brought out very little this year. My preference is to have Easter later in April, rather than March. Then we can all enjoy our Easter decor for a longer time. When early, I try to keep it more spring. Happy Easter!
With the puppy underfoot and no company, I too have done very little decorating — just a table setting for two and my Darling Vintage Style Stuffed Easter Bunny Collection on the mantle. Instead of bunnies this year, I have a Scottish Terrier scampering around the house!
This is amazing. I would love it if you would share this on the Fabulous Friday Link Party this Friday. You can find the link on my website, Peacock Ridge Farm. Blessings to you.
Thanks so much Renae! I celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a big way here (see Traveling Irish Shamrock Cloth Tablescape and Easy, Hearty Irish Stew), so I’ll spend the next 3 days decorating for Easter. Last week we got 6″ of snow, but today it’s 70 degrees! Ready for spring!
Congratulations! I am featuring you on The Fabulous Friday Link Party this week. Hugs to you.
Wow, thanks Renae! Delighted to join the party!
These are beautiful Easter vignettes. You’ve given me lots of inspiration to haul out my Easter decor and get busy decorating.
Thanks so much Carol! I’m a bit behind, but am finally expecting family for Easter this year, and want to decorate to the hilt! Takes awhile when you have so much stuff, lol!
Debbee, I love your springtime posts and this one from a couple of years ago is still spot on for Easter! Happy to feature your post this evening at Share Your Style #340 for you. <3
Enjoy your springtime,
Barb :)
I actually use this post to help me remember what Easter and spring decor I’ve got, because everything is stored all over the house lol! Very much appreciate the feature Barb, thanks!
You have so many adorable bunnies! I think the moss nests are a great touch for spring. Thanks for sharing with us on Happiness is Homemade!
Thank you Niki. It was the first time I created vignettes using my rabbit figures. Usually I just set them around the house. Now, it’s something I enjoy putting together every year.
I just discovered your website by following a bunny holding a basket on pinterest. He is standing on a black chest. I’m wondering if it is possible to buy this bunny-I just love it.
Thank You-Kathy
Appreciate your interest Kathleen, but it isn’t for sale.
Debbee, I love all of your bunnies and I have many of the same Beatrix Potter figurines. Congratulations, you are being featured on Happiness Is Homemade.
You are only one of two people I know who also have a collection of BP figures Bev — curious when you started? Because of our nephew’s upcoming wedding in Charleston, and leaving for Holland the next day, I won’t be bringing the figures out. We’ll be celebrating Easter in Amsterdam and so many of my bunnies will stay in hibernation this year.
Okay Debbee, I am either coming to your house and stealing all of your decor, or I need to go shopping with you! I cannot pick just one because I love it all! You have so many beautiful pieces! Our TJ Maxx and Home Goods do not have the lovely pieces you find. :(
Stop by anytime Cara — but no stealing lol! Remember that I’ve been collecting things over a lifetime. Part of the fun is the hunt!
I may be boring, but I loved the tale of Peter Rabbit. When I was a child, my parents went to England and brought home a Beatrix Potter tea set for me, of course, it was none other than Peter Rabbit. I still have it to this day which reminds me, I should get it out and display it some day. Even as a child, I was an avid reader and loved so many of her tales. Thank you for sharing, took me back this morning. Love your watering can, I wish something like this would fit on my door darn it.
Me too Cara, and I especially loved BP’s artwork that brought the characters to life. How wonderful to have the tea set from England! I’ll bet it’s really special.
Beautiful home tour Debbee – I love all of it! You have a wonderful bunny collection (asides from your gorgeous Beatrix Potter collection). I’m in love with the rabbit topiaries and the kid’s pictures are just precious! Love the watering can wreath too – very unique and creative. Happy Monday and wishing you a lovely Easter!
Thanks for taking the tour and “visiting” Kim! I didn’t pull any of the bunnies, Easter decorations or tableware out this year, as my nephew is getting married in Charleston over the Easter weekend, and then we leave for two weeks in Holland. Sure do miss it though! I didn’t want to come home, unpack, regroup and have to put everything away. I hope you have a wonderful Easter!
