Meet Me at the Eiffel Tower Table Valentine

Meet Me at the Eiffel Tower Table Valentine

Bonjour mon amis! What could be more fabulous than to have a seat at an Eiffel Tower table on Valentine’s Day in Paris; the City of Light and Love?

I’ve been fortunate to eat dinner there twice. First, was with my husband early in our marriage. While vacationing in Paris a decade plus later, we took our then adolescent sons to dine at an Eiffel Tower table.

There are several dinning establishments inside the Eiffel Tower; including champagne and macaroon bars.

Popular with families and for its incredible view over Paris, is 58 Tour Eiffel. Legendary restaurant and triple Michelin-star, Le Jules Verne, is undergoing a facelift and will reopen in the spring. A truly magical experience in an iconic setting.

My Eiffel Tower table is in a much more modest setting — I’ve swapped Paris for Pittsburgh!

Queen of Hearts Roses and Teacup Grapevine Wreath

Queen of Hearts Roses and Teacup Grapevine Wreath

A quick post today to announce the Alice in Wonderland party favor package winner. While we’re back down the rabbit hole, I’ll also show you a Queen of Hearts Roses and Teacup grapevine wreath.

Back in June, during the Unbirthday Party Reveal I announced my first blog giveaway. New subscribers and existing followers who left a comment through Labor Day were registered to win.

First, welcome to all new followers of Debbee’s Buzz. I hope you’ll find it’s your cup of tea! And special thanks to all those who left comments over the summer. I love conversing with you!

Congratulations to Leanne Hlavka of Arizona, the lucky winner of the giveaway. The package includes all the same favors I gave my guests, including; a teacup fascinator, Mad Hatter hand-painted goblet, flamingo shopping bag, and vintage teacup filled with goodies. See them all at How to Make Whimsical Teacup Fascinators and Alice in Wonderland Table and Party Favors.

Although I have a number of Alice in Wonderland party stories still to write, I’ll be spacing them out — focusing on more seasonal topics. But, while we’re on the subject, here’s the grapevine wreath that welcomed guests to the Unbirthday Party.

Fanciful Alice in Wonderland Theme Wreath

Fanciful Alice in Wonderland Theme Wreath

Today, I’m excited to show you the Alice in Wonderland theme wreath I created to decorate the house for my Unbirthday Party .

When not making party decorations, I’ve been going a little mad with preparations.

I’ve also shared numerous posts on the party’s decorations, favors, games, prizes, and menu.

When I saw Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home hosting a Tea and Roses Blog Hop, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to participate. So, I went through all the stuff I’ve created, and decided to share the Alice in Wonderland theme wreath.

Fit for the Queen of Hearts herself, the Tea and Roses decorated wreath also makes a great Valentine’s Day decoration

Decorating with Red Heart Ornaments for Valentines Day

Decorating with Red Heart Ornaments for Valentines Day

I’ve decorated the kitchen and dining room with red heart ornaments, mini-wreaths and embellishments for Valentines Day.

After creating a DIY Let Me Call You Sweetheart Wreath recently, there were a few red heart ornaments leftover. So I got myself to Michaels and picked up two more packages of eight.

First, I incorporated the red hearts into a formal dining room tablescape. That’s when I ‘rediscovered’ red heart-shaped wreaths, previously used as napkin rings. Do you ever forget you have stuff? Or, then where you stashed it lol?

For giggles, I hung a couple of the red heart mini-wreaths from the chandelier, and really liked the look. Back to Michaels I went to grab as many as I could, while they still had them. All this led to a cascade of ideas using red hearts, including decorating a trio of cabinets in the kitchen, and creating two more informal table settings. It’s ‘bleeding’ red hearts around here! (more…)

A Valentines Day Tea Party with Friends

A Valentines Day Tea Party with Friends

A couple of years ago, three of my friends joined me for a Valentines Day tea with champagne cocktails and desserts. Valentine’s Day is about love and romance, but it’s also about celebrating friendships.

I met all three of these lovely ladies at the gym. We regularly go for coffee and smoothies after class, and plan outings throughout the year together.

Just yesterday, we went to see Phantom Thread, a movie we were confident none of our husbands would enjoy. We were right! What a long, odd movie.

All those Oscar nominations and positive reviews had us intrigued, but it was quite a disappointment. Although the movie did make for animated post-coffee discussion, I recommend viewing it at home to see all the marvelous fashions. Sorry to say, I’d only give it a two out of five Debbee rating. Have any of you see Phantom Thread? What are your thoughts, reactions to the movie?

Anyway, I wanted to thank my gym buddies for supporting me through a particularly rough patch. So, I invited them for a Valentines Day tea party. (more…)

DIY Let Me Call You Sweetheart Wreath

DIY Let Me Call You Sweetheart Wreath

After putting away the rest of my winter decorations and tableware, I couldn’t wait to get started on creating this Let Me Call You Sweetheart wreath for Valentine’s Day.

Gosh, I hate packing up holiday decorations and dishes! Tableware in particular, because I am constantly reshuffling things around in order to deal with a shortage of storage space. It’s my darn fault, because I just can’t part with my stuff.

I really don’t have much in the way of Valentine’s Day decor and specially dishes. In fact, it’s the holiday I have the least in terms of decorations. Maybe because it’s a more girly holiday and I raised two boys? And, there’s the calendar problem.

By that I mean, Valentine’s Day falls just after the big trifecta of holidays — Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not enough time after Christmas and winter seasonal decorations go down. Before you know it, it’s time for hearts, flowers and chocolate. OK, there’s always time for chocolate!

So, I decided I needed to make a Valentine’s Day wreath, and I had just the thing to help indulge my crafting itch. (more…)
