Alfresco Alice in Wonderland Unbirthday Party Tables

Alfresco Alice in Wonderland Unbirthday Party Tables

Today, I’m revisiting my Unbirthday Birthday, Alice in Wonderland theme event, celebrated on the outdoor covered porch and pergola.mad-hatter-table-friends

In the Alice in Wonderland, Unbirthday Party Reveal, I told you about the terrible electrical storms we had the night before. It wasn’t until 11 AM the  morning of the party, that I felt confident enough about the weather to move forward setting the tables up outside.

Previously, I’ve shared the “in case of rain,” or “Plan Bee” tables to seat 17.

Two Alice in Wonderland Tables would have been arranged in the kitchen and family room. While, bad weather would also necessitate the Absolutely Mad, Summer Tea Party Table bee-ing set in the dining room.

But, up until now, I’ve only shared glimpses of the actual alfresco celebration that took place on the deck. Put on your party hat and come join us outside!

Today is a roundup of 12 25  fun to fabulous napkin folds I’ve used styling tables for a variety of holidays, occasions and parties.

It’s not the St. Patrick’s Day theme post I planned.

Originally, I wanted to share our upcoming Ireland vacation itinerary, including details of the 10-day organized tour. Hubby and I also added five days on our own to explore the home towns and villages of many of his Irish ancestors. It’s to be a bucket list trip, and the fruit of my many years of genealogy study and research.

But, with the virus pandemic and worldwide emergency, I suspect our summer vacation to the United Kingdom is unlikely — at least when scheduled.

Instead, while we are all social distancing, I thought you might enjoy a little diversion. Because this too will pass, and then we’ll all want to return to normal, gathering together to celebrate holidays and special occasions.

Absolutely Mad, Summer Tea Party Table

Absolutely Mad, Summer Tea Party Table

Hosted by Chloe of Celebrate and Decorate, today’s post is part of the Welcome Summer Tablescape blog hop. I’m sharing a different take on the traditional or proper tea. Mine is a summertime, iced tea party table.

Last June, I hosted my fourth annual Favorite Things Party. Every year, I pick a different theme to build the event around. I’d always wanted to have a vintage style tea party. Because it was summertime, I served two refreshing iced teas, along with a sparkling pink lemonade. They were part of an extensive menu that included classic tea party finger sandwiches, savories and desserts.

Did you know the Mad Hatter’s tea is actually an Unbirthday Party? It just so happened, that the event coincided with a big milestone birthday for yours truly. So, holding a Wonderland unbirthday, vintage style tea theme party checked all the boxes! And, the self proclaimed, Queen of Theme, got to bee the Queen of Hearts for the day, LOL!

For those coming from Kari’s pink and gold table at Me and My Captain, welcome to Debbee’s Buzz. And to my dearly appreciated subscribers, thank you for taking another trip down the rabbit hole with me! Come all, and take a seat at this richly detailed, tea party table set for the Queen of Hearts’ official Unbirthday.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s Theme Brunch

Breakfast at Tiffany’s Theme Brunch

I’m finally getting around to sharing the Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme brunch, a My Favorite Things Party.

Sixteen ladies ate out on the covered porch and under the pergola on a gorgeous Saturday for Brunch with Debbie. The party began at 11:30 AM.

The girls arrived appropriately attired in a favorite black dress or ensemble. As the Queen of Theme, I was delighted for an occasion that called for wearing a tiara — the better to express my inner Holly Golightly!

After receiving favors of pearls, sunglasses and a hand-painted Holly Golightly flute, guests were directed to the champagne bar. And the bubbly kept being sipped until late in the afternoon.

Dahhhling, grab a glass and join us for the sparkling Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme brunch.

Alice in Wonderland Table and Party Favors

Alice in Wonderland Table and Party Favors

Heading back down the rabbit hole with today’s Alice in Wonderland table feature. It’s one of several tablescape posts from the My Favorite Things Party I’ll be sharing.

If you read, Alice in Wonderland, Unbirthday Party Reveal, you’ll remember that the weather forecast was dire the night before. Fortunately, the heavy storms passed and the sun came out by the time the party began at one in the afternoon.

All four My Favorite Things Parties have been set at least partially outside. The last three were sit down meals, under the covered porch and pergola. So, I’ve always had a “Plan Bee” in case of rain.

Cramming 14-16 people indoors for the entire party, especially to eat, would be less than ideal. We’d have to move furniture out of the family room to squeeze in two banquet tables and 12 chairs. Another four or five ladies would be seated around the kitchen table. That would leave very little room to mingle, play games, and do the favorite things gift display and exchange.

What I’m showing you today, was a sort of dress rehearsal by setting up an Alice in Wonderland table in the kitchen. Just in case… (more…)

A HapBEE Birthday Table and Beehive Dessert

A HapBEE Birthday Table and Beehive Dessert

For my husband’s recent birthday, I created a HapBEE Birthday table and beehive dessert.

After all, he’s my honey and I’m his Debbee!

B’s gift was a Penguins hockey game, with fabulous front row seats youngest son D helped me to score (unintentional pun). It was the first game of the playoffs, with our Pens the reigning Stanley Cup champs — for the past two years (intentional bragging). So, there was a lot of hoopla during pregame festivities. And, we won 7-0 for an amazing night!

Ironically, the Pens were playing the Philadelphia Flyers — where son D lives. He had to watch all the games at either his or a friend’s apartment to hide their enthusiasm. Inside, their pads were bedecked with banners, signs and Pittsburgh jerseys. D did wear one of his jerseys, in public, on a business flight from Chicago back home. I worried the infamous Broad Street Bully fans might not appreciate him walking through the airport victorious with a Pens jersey on. D wasn’t gonna feel any City of Brotherly Love that night LOL!

The Pens did win the series, but evidently were eliminated by sister-in-law’s long denied Capitals. Congrats

Anyway, it was one of those milestone, big-0 birthdays for hubby. He didn’t want a party, but I was determined to make dinner special. B has a sweet tooth, so I knew he’d enjoy a honey of a dessert.
