If you are visiting from Paula’s Virginia Sweet Pea, welcome to Debbee’s Buzz!

My Birds of a Feather Gather Together table does homage to a colonial ancestor. Peacock was his first name. But to the British, Washington’s spy was known as The Rebel Bird.

A foul fowl in their view, with a price of 500 pounds sterling on his head! Fortunately, Peacock outwitted the Red Coats, and witnessed their surrender at Yorktown. Learn more about him at, Celebrating Patriots on Independence Day.

Family, friends and regular followers are well aware of my passion for all things peacock. They’ve seen the peacock home decor, Christmas decorationsFavorite Things Party, and an Exotic Peacock Tablescape.

Join my favorite feathered fowl at a Thanksgiving table featuring peacock transferware.

Peacock Theme Menu for My Favorite Things Party

Peacock Theme Menu for My Favorite Things Party

It was challenging putting together a peacock theme menu for the second My Favorite Things Party (MFTP).

I mean, I wasn’t exactly going to serve peacock right?

The first MFTP menu, Bee Theme Party Food Features Honey, Lemon, was only difficult in terms of narrowing the list of recipes. I also limited that menu to appetizers and desserts. It was a Sunday afternoon party, not an evening meal.

Birds of a Feather, Gather Together was a Friday, girls night out party. That meant serving cocktails, appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Undaunted, the Queen of Theme was up for the challenge!

First, I looked for foods and beverages in beautiful jewel tone colors. Then, I added serving presentations that resemble a peacock’s open fan of feathers. The result was a peacock theme menu that tasted as good as it looked.

The theme of the party was Birds of a Feather, Gather Together.

Pretty Peacock Invitation for My Favorite Things Party is the only post I’ve had time to put together on the event so far. Although I did share Exotic Peacock Tablescape Graces Formal Dining Room, which included some theme decor and tableware for entertaining. Eventually, I also plan to feature the menu, decorations, games and activities, and gift exchange. Catch-up posting as fast as I can!

If you follow Debbee’s Buzz, you know I have a peacock passion that even extends to Decorating for Christmas with a Peacock Theme. So, it was easy to come up with the second party’s theme.

I had a great time shopping for prizes and gifts, and crafting peacock party favors.

For a Birds of a Feather Gather Together party theme, I created a beautiful peacock invitation with vintage imagery.

The event was the second My Favorite Things Party.

I’m still playing catch up posting details from events that preceded launching Debbees Buzz last fall. Right now, I’m planning and crafting for the fourth party, an Alice in Wonderland, Unbirthday.

A peacock theme is popular for weddings and bridal showers. Brides incorporate the color scheme and feathers into everything! You can find great ideas for bridesmaid dresses, floral arrangements, hair pieces, favors, and even wedding cakes.

But, today I’m going to show how you can easily create a peacock invitation for any special occasion.

Exotic Peacock Tablescape Graces Formal Dining Room

Exotic Peacock Tablescape Graces Formal Dining Room

I’ve been wanting to share this peacock tablescape with you for quite awhile. But up until now, I’ve been trying to just keep up with timely holiday settings.

Not that I don’t love the holidays! It just feels like they’ve been one on top of each other since last fall when I launched this blog. Easter coming early didn’t help either. Over the months ahead, I’m looking forward to sharing tables that are seasonal, or for no particular occasion at all.

If you’ve been following Debbee’s Buzz, you know peacocks are one of my favorite things. Just love their beautiful feathers, and gorgeous teal and blue coloring.

My peacock passion (obsession?) started when I ‘discovered’ my husband’s colonial ancestor. His honest to goodness first name was Peacock! A spy for General Washington, the British referred to him as The Rebel Bird! Learn all about Peacock in, Celebrating Patriots on Independence Day.

I’ve been collecting peacock decorative accents, ornaments and tableware ever since.
