Today, I’m sharing the Christmas peacock theme tablescape I set in the dinning room. It compliments the peacock feathers and birds in the classic wallpaper.
I also Decorate for Christmas with a Peacock Theme in the entry hall and living groom. That includes a handmade Holiday Peacock Wreath and Peacock Ornaments on the Christmas Tree.
Regular readers know I have a passion for peacocks! It all started when I traced hubby’s ancestry to a Revolutionary War militia officer named Peacock! Read about The Rebel Bird in Celebrating Patriots on Independence Day.
Although I’ve previously shown you many casual to formal Christmas season settings, somehow I missed the peacock theme tablescape. It includes a centerpiece with a pair of feather trees, napkins folded in a peacock tail feather fan, and sits beneath the show-stopping Peacock Ornament Decorated Chandelier.
It’s one of 18 festive tables in this year’s annual Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop, hosted by Rita of Panoply. You’re sure to find lots of ideas and inspiration for setting your own holiday table. And, if you’re a dish addict, there might be a thing or two to add to your Santa wish list!

Peacock Ornament Collection
Before setting the peacock theme tablescape, I start by decorating the brass dining room chandelier with Christmas ornaments, ribbons and birds.
When my extensive collection of peacock theme ornaments outgrew the slim tree in the living room, I began to hang the overflow from the light fixture.
Dear hubby teases it’s technically another Christmas tree, but this one is suspended from the ceiling lol!
Most of the ball, teardrop and egg shape ornaments are in deep shades of teal or sapphire blue, with touches of emerald green. Some are covered with velvet, while others are painted, but all are decorated with jewels or glitter.
Specialty, decorative hooks (Michaels) are used to hang most of the ornaments from the brass chandelier. Some have cranberry color jewel accents that tie-in with the berry rings around each candle in the light fixture.
I’ve been collecting the ornaments for many years. Most were found at Macy’s, which seems to have a new peacock theme collection every year. Others came from Home Goods, Marshall’s and TJ Maxx.
Hanging from the center ring of the chandelier is this one-of-a-kind ornament. See close ups of others in, Peacock Ornaments Decorate Chandelier and Peacock Ornaments Decorate Christmas Tree.
Styling a Festive Peacock Centerpiece
After decorating the chandy, I place protective pads and a vintage ivory tablecloth over the mahogany table. Next, came a teal silk and velvet runner, decorated with a metallic gold and beaded peacock on each end.
Here’s the runner on the non-seasonal, Exotic Peacock Tablescape Graces Formal Dining Room.
Instead of using a pair of Greek urns filled with silk florals and decorative fruit, I placed two peacock feather trees on either side of the chandelier.
Each is topped with a teal and gold bird ornament. There’s also a six-loop bow, with long tails trailing down either side. It’s the same wire-edge ribbon decorating the chandy above.
Can you see the peacock wallpaper and large Fitz and Floyd figurine in the background? I love how the decorated chandelier and peacock theme tablescape are reflected in the side mirror.
Years ago, the peacock feather trees were a spontaneous discovery at Target. I embellished them with the ribbon and ornaments for the Christmas centerpiece.
You can also see them on the buffet for the Peacock Theme My Favorite Things Party, and as decor with Peacock Party Favors, Gifts and Prizes.
Centered between the two feather trees is a unique peacock on a sleigh base, filled with metallic gold balls and pinecones.
The sleigh, Christmas tree place card holders, and peacock-embellished candles all came from Pier One.
Pier One regularly carried peacock decor, especially at Christmastime. I sure miss browsing and shopping there, don’t you?
Peacock Theme Tablescape
Now it’s finally time to set the tabletop!
The plate stack starts with Lenox Holiday Nouveau dinner plates, a 25th anniversary gift from my parents. The pattern compliments the 12-place settings of Lenox Eclipse (retired) they gave us as a wedding gift.
Here’s a better view of the plate’s unique square shape (with rounded edges) on the Nutcracker Collection Christmas Centerpiece & Table.
Holly and plaid ribbon provide a festive look for the holiday peacock theme tablescape dish stack.
On top, I’ve placed a 222 Fifth Serene Peacock plate. Because my Lenox china is cream-colored with gold trim, the colors in the peacock dishes work as salad and dessert plates (I have both sizes). I also like that the peacock image is in muted shades.
But unlike my china dishes, these are dishwasher and microwave safe!
I have two other peacock dish patterns. Most recently I shared a casual, everyday pattern on the, Alfresco Brunch Peacock Table. For Thanksgiving, I use vintage-inspired brown and white salad plates seen in the Birds of a Feather Gather Together Table.
Flanking the plate stack is Wallace Peacock (retired) stainless flatware. Vintage etched stemware (Cambridge Rose Point) belonged to my great-grandmother, and has graced many holiday tables.
Tucked in each water glass is a teal fabric napkin folded in a simple fan shape — resembling a peacock’s tail feathers. See it?
More elaborate is the Peacock Table Napkin Fold. But since it requires two napkins for each fold, I only had enough teal napkins for the fan shape on this peacock theme tablescape.
Other festive napkin folds — like the Christmas tree — are included with over 24 Napkin Folds for All Seasons, Holidays & Occasions.

Holiday Happenings
I hope you all had a most happy and healthy Thanksgiving. We were away for an activity-packed week at Sistah B’s, Making Merry in Charleston. Family flew in from Seattle, New York, Philadelphia, Orlando and Pittsburgh. Our crew rented a house just a few minutes walk from my sister’s waterfront home. Sometimes we shuttled back and forth in their new street-worthy golf cart.
In Fast & Tasty Holiday Turkey: Splay, Smoke or Fry I shared alternative cooking methods from last Thanksgiving. This year my youngest son and his uncle tried another — grilling a splayed bird. It was delicious!
Love Boat
Early in the week, we co-hosted a surprise Love Boat theme engagement party for our eldest son R and V, and nephew K and his fiancĆ©. What a blast! Sistah B and my niece came up with the fun party theme. There was a giant photo backdrop, portholes on the windows, and other nautical and “tie the knot” decorations.
The day before, each couple received an invitation to the captain’s table in the form of a ship nametag lanyard. They were greeted by my brother-in-law, dressed in his Navy captain uniform, while I held a tray of champagne as they “boarded” the Love Boat. Dear hubby was first mate and gave the heart-warming toast!
After cocktails and appetizers, was a delicious catered Southern Boil out on the screened porch, overlooking the water. Sixteen of us sat at two tables, with the two couples and their parents at the captain’s table.
Here Come the Brides
Afterwards, mom, Sistah B and I shared two family wedding traditions (accompanied by old photographs). One is the bride and groom drinking champagne from a silver loving cup. The other is the bride wearing a now 125-150 year old lavalier. It belonged to the two groom cousins’ great, great grandmother (who’s crystal I used in the peacock theme tablescape). We stressed that we wanted the girls to know we loved them like family already, and that wearing the necklace was optional.
The rest of the week was packed full with the Thanksgiving feast, an oyster bake, boat rides, beach bocce, evening board games, and a bowling tournament.
Now, I’m back home decking the halls, gift buying, wrapping, writing holiday cards, and preparing for the kids and my mom to arrive for 10-14 days visit over the holidays. And, mom, V and I are going wedding dress shopping too!

Debbee, Your peacock collection of table dĆ©cor is truly amazing! I think my favorite part of your dining room are the hanging ornaments on your chandy, although the feather trees are delightful. I bet you squealed with glee when you stumbled on them in Target. I didnāt realize how much peacock-themed dĆ©cor and tableware there was on the market, and yes, I so miss Pier1! What a fun Love Boat theme engagement party, planning themed parties obviously runs in the family. š As always itās a treat to join you at the table. Merry Tuesday ā£ļøš
Oh Mary, I imagine I did let out a happy yelp when I spotted those feather trees lol! As I recall, they only had three at the time. I don’t know if there’s that much peacock decor out there, but I seem to have inner radar finding it. I’ve also crafted a wreath and a number of swags and other decorative pieces for our grandmother clock, mirrors, etc. They compliment the peacock oil painting and peacock in the wall mural in the living room. My niece (who’s descended from Peacock) loved the look so much, we incorporated peacock feathers in her bridal bouquet and floral centerpieces at the reception. My sister really knocked the Love Boat theme out of the park! It was perfect because my son proposed on a private sunset sail while vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard, and nephew proposed on the beach.
Debbie, I so enjoyed your delightful table setting. The chandelier is a favorite. I love to decorate mine as well and the ornaments are so beautiful. The feather trees are perfect for this table. I especially loved your Great-grandmother’s crystal. So lovely to have those memories at Christmastime. I have a weakness for interesting flatware and the Wallace Peacock pattern is a winner. A pleasure to join you today. Happy Holidays!
I also enjoy seeing how you decorate your chandy Lynne. Decorating the light fixture makes such a great statement but doesn’t block guest conversations. When I inherited the crystal, no one else in the family was the least bit interested. All my aunts passed on it. They thought it was too old fashioned looking. As the oldest grandchild I snapped it up. My great grandmother had splurged on it for the celebration dinner after her son was ordained a priest. I just love it! As for the flatware, when I saw it at Horchow I had to have it!
Debbee I adore peacocks and used to raise them so imagine my delight at seeing all your peacock pieces. What a find and the flatware is stunning. I always look forward to your choice of decor for your chandy as it is always inspirational. What fun your family must of had at Thanksgiving and at first I thought the splayed turkey was a duck. Yummy! I thoroughly enjoyed studying your table in detail. One never knows what the Queen of theme is going to share next. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Ah Kari, I knew about you raising peacocks (from the fall hop) and thought you might enjoy the unusual holiday theme in particular. That’s actually an 20 pound turkey, but I can understand why you thought it was a duck. We are now a splayed turkey family as it cooks so much faster and evenly. I think I’ve run out of collection themes as I’ve already done snowmen and nutcrackers. I’ve actually been setting a peacock holiday table for many years now.
Debbee, we so love it when you bring us along for the party! I love that glassware. Great minds shop alike. I have one if those feather trees too. Imagine my dismay in Walmart this year when someone had broken all of the peacock bird ornaments. In my collection is the peacock mask and some feather balls. We had a setback when the cat attacked my peacock. A local florist made a killer wreath one year and included those mirror balls in purple. I sold one with a big silver peacock. V has a lot to look forward to.
And I love when you stop by for a “visit” and chat! The crystal is a treasured family heirloom, but that doesn’t mean I don’t use it often. Otherwise, what’s the point of having it? Can’t believe you have one of those trees — everyone seems to really like ’em. I wouldn’t have thought of Walmart, so just checked online and see they have a pretty 3 ornament set. They are similar to ones I have, but other readers might be interested? A peacock mask sounds gorgeous, and I’ll have to keep an eye out! You have a real peacock?! Did I know that? Oh dear, I hope it’s ok? I had fun making my Holiday Peacock Wreath , but a florist would probably put mine to shame. Our entire family is excited for the wedding and we’ll be doing lots of planning over the holidays. Wishing you the merriest Christmas Myrna!
Wow – This is such a unique setting – your chandelier has gorgeous ornies on it. The theme is carrried throughout with your dishes, candles and centerpiece with perfection. I would enjoy sitting at this table (and I would wear a peacock fascinator!!!). Enjoy the hoilday season!
What a great idea to wear a fascinator while at the peacock table! You’d fit right in Patti! I actually wore a peacock feather hairpiece when I hosted a peacock themed my favorite things party. This year, I’m hand painting feathers on teal ornament balls to give as guest favors on the Christmas table. Everyone attending will be a descendant of Peacock and they should make a nice addition to their trees.
OMG!! I love the Peacock Theme! I read and re-read every detail! You certainly put your heart and soul into it. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful holiday season…Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks so much Peggy, I’m delighted you enjoyed the unusual holiday theme. Appreciate you stopping by to visit and I hope you’ll take a look at some of the links to my other peacock theme posts.
Debbee! Your table is stunning!! Those ornaments on your chandelier are just gorgeous bringing in those deep saturated colors! Your plates compliment each other so well. Your whole dining room is just a beautiful scene, well done! Your Love Boat theme party looks like a hoot!! Have a wonderful Christmas Season!š
Ahh thanks so much Ann! It looks particularly nice at night with the chandy on and candles lit. But, it’s really hard for me to get pictures that don’t have a lot of glare. The party was really fun! Especially the look on the two couples faces when they came in the front door. It’s always fun to carry off a surprise. A most merry Christmas to you too!
Debbee, I love your peacock table. I too have some peacock plates. The chandy looks fabulous with your gorgeous collection of peacock ornaments. I think I need some. The feather trees are so lovely. I can see you were on a mission to find peacock themed decor. The sleigh is delightful. There are so many wonderful pieces to admire. A delight for the eyes. The Love Boat theme is so fun and creative. Merry Christmas. always a pleasure joining you on these hops.
Thanks Linda! If you find some peacock ornaments, I hope you’ll do a post so I can see them. I’m delighted with what I have in my collection, and now am very picky about adding anything. Instead, I’m painting peacock feathers onto teal ornaments to give as table favors this year. Sistah B and my niece did a great job coming up with the fun party theme and finding the decorations. Hubby and I had fun setting everything up, and I bet you can guess who set the nautically themed tables lol! Happy holidays Linda, wishing you a blessed season.
Debbee, I am totally lost in all of the color and elegance of your peacock tablescape. I have done one myself years ago, but not anything as stunning and exquisite as your table. You have such beautiful pieces and such an attention to details. Your collection of peacock ornaments from Macys or Pier One brings grandeur to the table Your peacock sleigh which holds your gold balls and gold pinecones are unique and are perfect among all of your charming peacock dinnerware. The napkin folds in a peacock tail fan really brings more attention to the fine details. I love the color combination of a peacock tablescape — the teal, sapphire blues and emerald greens all accented with glitter, gold and beautiful lace patterns. I just can’t say enough about your peacock tablescape,- a tablescape of distinction. Gorgeous. Merry Christmas Debbee!
Thank you for you very generous remarks Marsha. “Tablescape of distinction” made my day! Did you share the peacock table on your blog? I’d love if you shared the link. I’m always looking for ideas. Wishing you a most blessed holiday season!
Debbee, I love your peacock theme. The chandelier is beautiful and is proud as a peacock. Every detail of your table is charming. I love your great-grandmotherās etched stemware, what a treasure. How I miss Pier 1, I could always find something unique. Your table is definitely elegant, the colors of a peacock have come to life on your table. I have a Fitz and Floyd peacock, a smaller version of yours. I must tell you that two separate years we had visits from a peacock. We live in the country, and we could only guess it had escaped! It is always a pleasure to be welcomed to your table!
Oh Pam, I envy you visits from a real peacock! Over the years, lots of ladies have tried to find my F&F figurine (Replacements lists it as out of stock), and I never knew there was a smaller one. Have you ever shared a picture of it? Not that I need more peacock stuff lol!
Just beautiful and a theme I would not have associated with Christmas.
Hi Frances, thanks for stopping by! Apparently, peacock holiday decor was popular during Victorian times and the art deco period. I never thought of peacock Christmas decorations until I came upon a gorgeous theme tree at Macy’s. Other than the front, more formal rooms of the house, most of my decorations are more traditional — Santa’s, snowmen, and nutcrackers. My most treasured decorations are the handmade ornaments my sons made when they were growing up. They go on the live tree in the family room.
Oh my, Deb–what a gorgeous table setting! I love the colors, runner and how you styled your chandy to include the beautiful peacock theme. Pinned! Wishing you a joyous Christmas season!
Thank you Cecilia! Wishing you a blessed holiday too!
Debbee, your tables and collections always delight! I love the rich colors of peacocks! Your table and decorations are amazing, and the chandy is over the top beautiful. Thank you for sharing all this beauty. I’m forwarding this post to my friend who adores peacocks. Happy Holidays!
You’re very kind to say so Sarah! Oh, I hope your friend enjoys the tablescape. I’ll bet she has some peacock ornaments on her tree too?
What a fun table! Peacock blue is one of my favorite colors, and your collection of peacock-related items and ornaments is truly special. My favorite things about your table (other than the colors) are the pretty etched glasses. I love how I can see the pattern with the teal napkin in it. Truly inspiring trick on a beautiful holiday table.
It’s not a traditional color scheme for Christmas, but it works so well with the decor in the front, more formal rooms of our home. I hadn’t realized the teal napkins would help set off the pretty etched pattern in the heirloom stemware, so I can’t take credit for thinking of it. But, I’m happy it worked out that way. I think my aunts are now regretting they weren’t interested in the stemware now that they see it in so many of my table settings.
What a lovely and unusual theme, your ornaments are beautiful!
How stunning Debbee! It is absolutely breathtaking! I love the reason you fell in love with peacocks, it makes all your things extra special! The peacock ornaments are so beautiful and your chandy is gorgeous! I grew up in So Cal where peacocks roamed freely and it was always a treat to see one strutting around with his feathers fanned out. This table full of aqua and gold would be fabulous for New Year’s too. It’s sounds like your life has been super fun and busy, the Love Boat party is so cute, and Thanksgiving in Charleston, {my favorite city} I know was fantastic. I have a friend who did a spatchcock turkey for Thanksgiving too, and she said it was really good! Have a very Merry Christmas!
Wow, thanks so much for your generous compliments Jenna! You’re very sweet to say so. Yes, Peacock is my favorite and most intriguing family ancestor. I wonder what he’d think of all my peacock decor and tableware? You are so lucky to see peacocks roaming around! I had to go all the way to Spain to see them wondering around the royal Arabian palace gardens. Your idea to use the peacock theme for a New Years dinner is a great one! I could serve “peacocktails” lol! Sistah B gets the credit for the fabulous party theme. It’s been fun but hectic juggling the holidays and planning two family weddings. Happy chaos! I highly recommend splaying the bird — I’m now a convert! Delicious, fast and even cooking. Plus, since I only have a single oven, it frees it up for all the side dishes.
Ahhh Debbee… as one peacock-lover to another your table is perfection! The peacock salad plates are fabulous if I may say so (since I have similar lol) and the chandy is absolutely stunning! And what a find those peacock feathered trees were. Love the napkin fold too – you are so clever. The turkey looks delicious and the Love Boat themed engagement party looks like it was so much fun. Thanks for sharing your amazing creativity and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Sharing a passion for peacocks makes us birds of a feather Kim! I do love those feather trees and was lucky to come across them. Wasn’t impressed with this year’s peacock holiday decor at Macy’s. A good thing, because where on earth would I put more stuff lol! You give me too much credit for the napkin — it’s gotta be the easiest fold and works for Thanksgiving as turkey tail feathers too! The turkey in the picture was cooked on my son’s smoker last year. It had a different flavor (from the hickory, apple, etc. wood pellets) than the one done on the grill. But both were indeed delicious! We had a wonderful time at the party, and I have dubbed my sister “Duchess of Theme” lol! Hoping you and yours have a blessed holiday season Kim!
Debbie, what a spectacularly festive tablescape/dining room! The deep teals are beautiful and all the intricate ornaments and sparkling accents make it celebratory! Your decorated chandelier is gorgeous — I bet it looks beautiful from every room and vantage point. I think having a collection that inspires your tables brings out your creative spark. Your guests will love every minute at your table. Have a wonderfully merry Christmas!
Appreciate all your very generous remarks Sandra, especially because it’s a rather unusual theme for the holidays. The chandy is particularly lovely at night, but when I try to take pictures they turn out full of glare. Yes, I really like to rally around a theme whether I’m planning a dinner party menu or wrapping presents — hence the nickname “queen of theme!” I really get a little obsessed lol!
As always beautiful table and decorations. Merry Christmas šš to you all. Hope to see you all soon.
Thanks so much Lois! I have so much stuff, I’m still decorating other rooms. Hopefully by the end of the weekend all the decorating will be done. Wish we lived closer and could make merry together. We will have to plan something for early in the new year. Next Sunday the boys, V and Bentley arrive, and my mom two days later. Looking forward to celebrating the holiday with them and wedding planning too!
Debbee your peacock table is stunning! Oh my gosh, you have curated a gorgeous collection. I am swooning over your chandelier with all the beautiful bobbles! You table runner is a centerpiece in itself! The flatware! Oh my gosh. I wish it wasn’t retired. That is beautiful! I love how you have added just that little hint of Christmas holly. It works perfectly with your theme. I do miss Pier One for sure. They always had the most beautiful ornaments. My main Christmas tree is decorated in all glass ornaments and I would love to add a couple of peacock themed ornaments! How fun is the Love Boat themed engagement party too! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
Well, thanks ever so much Maureen! I’ve been decorating the chandy and setting a holiday peacock theme table for years, and can’t believe I never got around to sharing it before. I found that flatware from Horchow, but I don’t think the pattern was active for long. Replacements has a few serving pieces, but is out of stock on everything else. Everyone thinks the flatware is heirloom silver, but it’s dishwasher safe and doesn’t tarnish! I’d be tickled if I inspired you to add some peacock ornaments to your tree! I can’t take credit for the fun party theme, but I bet you can figure out who set and styled the nautical theme tables lol! We’ll be busy over the holidays planning my son’s destination wedding. It’ll be a bit hectic, but wonderful.
Your holiday table is OUTSTANDING! It’s my second favorite after your Halloween skellie in the punchbowl table. Congratulations on your family’s nuptials. It will certainly be a whirlwind season. Don’t forget to take a pause(s) to observe & reflect in the moment.
I’m thrilled you like it that much Robin! Wasn’t sure how much of an appeal a peacock theme would have as a holiday table — it’s not a tradition setting. The two weddings are already making for a whirlwind and it’s still 2022 lol! Nephew’s wedding is in April — the day before we leave for the Holland vacation that didn’t happen this past Easter. Our Christmas – New Years holiday will include lots of time planning with our son and V for their September destination wedding. And, hubby and I will be celebrating our 40th in France at the end of the month. Whew! It should be a fabulous year. Counting my blessings.
What a striking look in your dining room for a holiday table, Debbee! The rich teal of the textiles and baubles and the creamy background of the Lenox and peacock plates makes such a beautiful look, especially with the wallpaper in the dining room. I love the peacock fold of the napkins. Everything about this just exudes a rich, holiday look. Great collection! Thank you for sharing your unique look with us on this blog hop. Happy, healthy holidays!
Thanks so much Rita! It’s not a look that would have wide appeal, but it works with my decor and connects with family ancestry. Everywhere else in the house is pretty traditional — Santa’s, nutcrackers, and snowmen. Hope you are feeling much better? I was under the weather all week too. Trying to get the rest of my house cleaned and decorated (since I do all three floors, including bedrooms and baths). My photo cards don’t arrive until Monday, and I have more shopping to do, and won’t start baking until the family is about to arrive (so hubby and I aren’t tempted lol).
Debbee, This is an absolutely fabulous table setting! I love the colors and most of all the touches of sparkle and gold!! You outdid yourself with this one! Kay
Thanks so much for stopping by Kay, delighted you enjoyed the table. Whiskey just turned two and laying beside me. I just set up my Scottie Dog Christmas Ornament Tree and thought of you. Merry Christmas!
Hi to Whisky! After losing 2 Scotties last year, we got a new puppy on Nov. 1. His name is Arnie (as in Arnold Palmer). He is just what we needed after a tough 2years! Heās black with some brindle. Lily just turned 3 and has finally settled down so sheās training Arnie to be a good Scottie boy!
Keep up the good work, I enjoy your tablescapes!
This is just so… so… stunning! Absolutely love it! The rich colors and so many details… just really lovely and unique for Christmas!
Thanks ever so much for the generous remarks Janet! Lovely to “meet” you. Working on another holiday theme table to post tomorrow — nutcrackers!
Oh I LOVE your peacock table Debbee! You have such fabulous ornaments and china for it, and I love the glasses too! What a sweet party for your engaged couples – I bet they all had a wonderful time and felt so much a part of your lovely family already! Thanks for sharing all the inspiration – I may have mentioned I always learn so much from your beautiful posts. Hope you and your family have a great holiday!
Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been busy the last 10 days with a house full of family company and making merry! Barbara, you generous comments made my day — like a holiday gift! I hope you had a fabulous Christmas and wish you a most happy and healthy 2023.
