No-Sew Banner & DIY Wedding Table Seating Chart

No-Sew Banner & DIY Wedding Table Seating Chart

I’ve already shared pictures of the Unique Rustic Barn Wedding Welcome Party Decor. Today, I’ll show how I made the table seating chart and fabric pennant, “I Do BBQ” banner.

The techniques used to make the banner could easily be applied to any party theme, holiday or occasion. That’s also true for the table seating chart — whether a glamorous, formal reception or rustic barn setting.

Both were relatively inexpensive to make. Plus, I utilized many of the same supplies to craft both projects; including the length of fabric, twine, and beads. That also helped to coordinate with the overall theme and color scheme of the party decorations.

Wine corks were also incorporated into both projects, tying in with the centerpieces and other decor. See those in, 7 DIY Wine Cork Crafts, Party & Home Decor Ideas. Additionally, the seating card artwork were part of the same wood cut and eucalyptus design used for place cards and table numbers.

Let me show you how easy both the table seating chart and banner were to make.

7 DIY Wine Cork Crafts, Party & Home Decor Ideas

Now that the Unique Rustic Barn Welcome Party for our eldest son’s wedding was held Labor Day weekend, I can share the wine cork crafts and decor. Because a wine theme isn’t occasion, holiday or seasonally-specific, it’s easily applied to many types of gatherings. Perfect for a wine and cheese tasting or fund raising gala, the theme also works for an anniversary or engagement party, couples shower, and wedding reception.

Incorporating the corks from a special event into a home decor project makes a lovely memento. Also consider using corks to make a gift for a friend or family member who’s a wine enthusiast. Wine cork crafts make home decor that’s ideal for decorating a bar cart, home bar or wine cellar.

First, I’ll show you how I made large initials of corks for the couple. There’s also easy-to-make, cork-wrapped place card stands that held table numbers and menu cards. More wine corks were strung on twine with wooden beads to create decorative garlands and embellish a banner.

For lighting elements, small and large glass lanterns were simply filled with wine corks. Another fun atmospheric element were clear glass wine bottles filled with strands of glowing LED lights. Finally, party favors included wine charms, and painted champagne corks resembling members of the wedding party.

Easy DIY Champagne Cork Wedding Party Figures

Easy DIY Champagne Cork Wedding Party Figures

Hello friends, I’m back from my eldest son’s destination wedding in Highlands, NC! Although I’m still regrouping, I wanted to share a quick post on how I made champagne cork wedding party figures.

In lieu of a reception dinner for the immediate family and wedding attendants, hubby and I hosted all ninety guests at a welcome party. After all, they had all traveled for the three-day, Labor Day weekend event. Most of the bride’s family and bridesmaids flew from CA. And one of my son’s high school friends came all the way from South Korea!

To kickoff the wedding weekend, we invited everyone to Flat Mountain Farm, a 28-acre luxury micro-resort and historic rhododendron farm. It was a magnificent setting! See a recap of the set-up, DIY decorations, food and beverages in, Unique Rustic Barn Wedding Welcome Party Decor.

The welcome party was held in Flat Mountain’s antique, Scandinavian-style black barn. It had been relocated all the way from Pennsylvania and renovated with a long back porch, restrooms, commercial kitchen, and stone fireplace.

To compliment the setting, I wanted a rustic but sophisticated style for the party decor. So I choose a theme that incorporated wine bottles, corks and wood slices into the centerpieces and other decorations. And, to personalize each place setting for members of the wedding party, I hand-painted and embellished a champagne cork.

How to Make Nutcracker Glasses & Napkin Rings

How to Make Nutcracker Glasses & Napkin Rings

Last year, I painted nutcracker glasses and crafted simple napkin rings to compliment the Christmas Day table setting.

Several years ago, I shared my Nutcracker Collection Christmas Centerpiece & Table. Complimenting it was an adorable appliqued runner and festive cracker favors.

Because my son’s now fiancé was joining us for the first time over the holidays, I wanted to pull out all the stops with my Christmas decorations and table settings. So I updated the nutcracker theme tablescape, adding the painted glasses and napkin rings. You can see the restyled tablescape at the end of this post.

When I went to Dollar Tree to pick up the clear goblets, I discovered they had a lot of nutcracker theme items for Christmas. That gave me the idea of using nutcracker tree ornaments to make simple napkin rings.

Inspired, I quickly got to work painting the images of three different color/styles of nutcracker faces on six goblets. Unfortunately, there wasn’t time to share how I painted the glasses or put together the napkin rings last year.

Both projects are very inexpensive to create, and the napkin rings are super fast and easy to make.
