With Easter fast approaching, I’m showcasing my Beatrix Potter figurine collection of Peter Rabbit and friends.
There were three main producers of figurines; Beswick, Royal Albert, and Border Fine Arts. My collection of 18 porcelain figures were all made by Beswick.
In 1948, Beswick produced the original group of ten figurines from the author’s beloved series of children’s book. They proved quite popular, and by 1977 there were characters from all of Beatrix Potter’s tales.
Over 75 different porcelain figurines created in all. Each is based on Beatrix Potter’s classic, watercolor illustrations.
Today’s post is part of the Easter’s on Its Way blog hop hosted by Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home. Twenty-five in all! If you’ve come from my friend Rita’s uplifting Hope Springs Eternal post at Panoply, welcome!

It’s the final day of this year’s weeklong, Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop. I’m sharing my Christmas Eve table, featuring Johnson Brothers, Twas the Night Before Christmas dishes.
We had a fan-tab-u-lous Thanksgiving! I hope you did too? But, boy was I exhausted after housing, entertaining and feeding 16 guests over eight days! The weekend before the holiday was a wonderful wedding, which brought family in town early. But, that also meant I had a lot of help in the kitchen to prepare for the feast — thanks mom and Sistah B!
Everyone got a big kick out of their Thanksgiving Table Family Photo Place Cards. And, all the ladies were pleased to take home an Easy to Make Sweater Pumpkin favor.
Instead of Black Friday shopping, we hosted a family luncheon where I used leftovers to make “Thanksgiving on a Panini” sandwiches. Eldest son brought home some unique games that three generations enjoyed playing together. That was followed by a Turkey Bowl party at the local bowling alley. Afterwards, we all went out for a dinner and awards banquet; returning back to our house for more pie.
Since I had overnight guests through Sunday, I am still regrouping! There was no time to set a new holiday tablescape — not when Thanksgiving was still being put away. So, I thought you might enjoy seeing last year’s Christmas Eve table.

As part of the We Gather Together Thanksgiving Blog Hop, I’m sharing the family photo place cards that will show who sits where for the feast.
As I mentioned in, Pumpkin Patch Table for Thanksgiving Brunch, I’ll be setting three tables for the holiday meal. That’s to accommodate 16 family members coming by plane and car (but not by boat lol!) to celebrate with us.
So, to add a little humor and personalize each place setting, family member faces were added onto pilgrim and Native American figures.
Hosted by Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home, the hop includes 25 bloggers presenting lots of ways to celebrate Thanksgiving. You’ll find ideas and inspiration for crafts, recipes, decorating, and setting tables.
Let me show you how to easily make family photo place cards for your own turkey day celebration.

Fall season finally arrived over the weekend — hurrah!
But the week before, temperatures were still a toasty mid to high eighty degrees. Regardless, I planted mums and placed large pumpkins on either side of the front door and on the back porch. Because company was coming, I waited until the last minute, hoping they wouldn’t roast in the heat.
Hubby and his brother ran Pittsburgh’s annual Great Race. Mr. Buzz has run the 10K many times, but missed it the last two years because we were on vacation in Spain and Greece. It was his brother’s first time running the hometown race.
My sister-in-law and I took the trolley into town to cheer them on. Luckily it was a cloudy morning, which helped keep the temperatures from overheating runners . Afterwards, we walked into Market Square to enjoy brunch al fresco. Later that evening we ate outdoors again at a local brewing, enjoying seasonal flavor beers and delicious BBQ.
Despite the heat, I’ve been delving into fall season crafts, decorating the house, and cheering on our favorite football teams. (more…)

Sharing a quick and easy, fall grapevine wreath I just whipped up for Sistah B’s Charleston area home — post hurricane.
After returning to the house and surveying the damage done by Hurricane Dorian, my sister sent out a “distress” message. But, it wasn’t an S-O-S, just a text to please make and send a fall wreath ASAP!
Only a day after the hurricane eye had moved north, my sister had moved on from preparations, evacuation, two days of sitting through a hurricane, and returning home to a mess. Amazingly, they never lost cell phone service or power at the house.
As Sistah B says, this hurricane was not their “first rodeo.” It’s the downside of living in a beautiful, natural setting. She and her husband were cleaning up all the debris, a fallen tree, patching the roof, putting the boat back into the water, and scheduling repairs to the floating dock. They sure are resilient. Here she was redecorating her front porch for fall already!
So, I was delighted to bee of assistance. Let me show you how I made the fall grapevine wreath in under an hour. (more…)
