It’s ski season for the Buzz family! And, in honor of the family-loved activity, I’ve set a winter table in our lodge-theme game room.
A belated, but very happy New Year to you all! This is my first post of 2020. After the sudden and heartbreaking loss of my Sweet Scottie Dog (shared in DIY Christmas Cocktail Ornament Balls), I needed to take a break from blogging.
But, I’m trying to get back into the swing of things; taking part in Amber’s Cozy Winter Home Tours. There’s so much to see and bee inspired by when you get this group of 24 talented stylists together! If you’ve come by from Lora’s simple winter mantel decor ideas, welcome!
Now that the holidays are in the rearview mirror, that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to make merry with family and friends. Besides, spring is a long way off here in Pittsburgh! During the month of January, I transition Christmas decor and tableware to enjoy for the rest of the winter season.
So, let’s hit the slopes — I promise it’s a no-fall zone!

As part of last week’s holiday tablescape hop, I shared a peek of the Christmas cocktail ornament balls that accompanied the Twas the Night Before Christmas Eve Table.
Today, I’ll show you two fast and easy methods to make your own festive drink ware for holiday merry making.
One is really just a shopping list. Minor crafting and assembly is all the other approach takes. Both are easy peasy, inexpensive to make, and require little time and effort.
I promise they’ll be a big hit with family and friends during the holiday season. Last year, my adult sons were so impressed with the Christmas cocktail ornament balls, they snapped pictures to text to their friends.
But you can use them for kids of all ages, even serving non-alcoholic beverages if you’d like. Perhaps a cranberry sparkler for the children, and something with a bit more punch for the grownups?

It’s the final day of this year’s weeklong, Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop. I’m sharing my Christmas Eve table, featuring Johnson Brothers, Twas the Night Before Christmas dishes.
We had a fan-tab-u-lous Thanksgiving! I hope you did too? But, boy was I exhausted after housing, entertaining and feeding 16 guests over eight days! The weekend before the holiday was a wonderful wedding, which brought family in town early. But, that also meant I had a lot of help in the kitchen to prepare for the feast — thanks mom and Sistah B!
Everyone got a big kick out of their Thanksgiving Table Family Photo Place Cards. And, all the ladies were pleased to take home an Easy to Make Sweater Pumpkin favor.
Instead of Black Friday shopping, we hosted a family luncheon where I used leftovers to make “Thanksgiving on a Panini” sandwiches. Eldest son brought home some unique games that three generations enjoyed playing together. That was followed by a Turkey Bowl party at the local bowling alley. Afterwards, we all went out for a dinner and awards banquet; returning back to our house for more pie.
Since I had overnight guests through Sunday, I am still regrouping! There was no time to set a new holiday tablescape — not when Thanksgiving was still being put away. So, I thought you might enjoy seeing last year’s Christmas Eve table.

Although it’s still weeks away, I’m sharing the Thanksgiving brunch table I plan to set for late morning on the holiday.
Early because, it’s the final day of this year’s Thanksgiving Tablescape Hop. All week long, nearly two dozen stylists have been posting a bounty of ideas for serving up feasts large and small.
Dinner here won’t be served until about six; to allow for family driving in on Thanksgiving day from Philly, D.C., and Cincinnati. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate everyone at the Buzz Inn; so most will be staying at a nearby hotel.
However, our sons, mom, and Sistah B and her hubby will all bunk-in here. It will be all hands on deck to prepare the feast for about twenty. Gotta feed the worker bees first though! Especially since I’ll be putting everyone to work, while the rest of the family is enroute.
My Thanksgiving brunch table is set for just four, with another three place settings and buffet on the adjacent kitchen island.

Welcome to my silly not scary Skeleton at the Feast Halloween table. The annual Halloween Tablescape Blog Hop is in full swing!
The weeklong spooktacular is hosted by Chloe of Celebrate & Decorate. Once again, twenty stylists have joined forces for the monthly tablescape event.
Rather than scary, my skeleton theme Halloween table is meant to be fun, not frightful.
I’ve tried to capture the nostalgia of Halloweens back when we and our kids were trick or treaters. A fearless time playing make-believe in the moonlight. How in the glow of grinning jack o lanterns, we’d run door-to-door with siblings and friends — gathering as much candy as we could. Then, coming home and dumping, sorting and counting our haul spread out on the floor.
So, come to the Halloween table my dearies, for a not-so-bone-chilling dinner party for four.
