Recently, I featured A HapBEE Birthday Table and Beehive Dessert that was complimented by a bee decorated chandelier hanging over head.
Problem was, by the time I posted all the pictures and details about the tablescape and birthday cake, I ran out of time and energy to include the bee decorated chandelier.
Sorry if I left you hanging.
Wow, that’s a pretty lame pun! I’m a little punchy after working all day preparing for the Wonderland 4th Annual My Favorite Things Party.
Ever since the first French Queen Bee party, I decorate the kitchen chandelier with bees and butterfly ribbon every May. It goes so nicely with all my bee linens, dishes, glasses, and flatware.
It’s also makes a nice home decor transition from spring to summer. Come see.

The dining room is already wearing the green — in anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day— with an elegant metallic gold and emerald shamrock tablescape.
I frequently set the dining room table and decorate the kitchen area to reflect the seasons and holidays for several weeks at a time. That includes two chandeliers, an island bar, countertop and open shelves.
This past weekend, I took down Valentines Day and began to pull out decorations and tableware for St. Patrick’s Day. But, since today is Presidents Day, the kitchen is still set with dishes, pewter and figures featured in Set a Presidents Day Table with Liberty Blue.
The shamrock tablescape is the first of several St. Patrick’s Day themed settings I plan to share with you. See how quickly and easily you can create an elegant dinner table. Mix china and crystal with inexpensive shamrock-shaped ornaments,and napkins folded into a four-leaf clover shape.

I’ve decorated the kitchen and dining room with red heart ornaments, mini-wreaths and embellishments for Valentines Day.
After creating a DIY Let Me Call You Sweetheart Wreath recently, there were a few red heart ornaments leftover. So I got myself to Michaels and picked up two more packages of eight.
First, I incorporated the red hearts into a formal dining room tablescape. That’s when I ‘rediscovered’ red heart-shaped wreaths, previously used as napkin rings. Do you ever forget you have stuff? Or, then where you stashed it lol?
For giggles, I hung a couple of the red heart mini-wreaths from the chandelier, and really liked the look. Back to Michaels I went to grab as many as I could, while they still had them. All this led to a cascade of ideas using red hearts, including decorating a trio of cabinets in the kitchen, and creating two more informal table settings. It’s ‘bleeding’ red hearts around here! A Different Kind of Christmas Tree
I’m excited to show you how peacock ornaments decorate the dining room chandelier! This is my third post about
decorating chandeliers, and you may be wondering why, at this time of year, I am not featuring a Christmas tree?I actually decorate 4-5 trees in my home every year, one live and the others artificial. The live tree in the family room has the most dear and treasured ornaments. Many were made by my boys out of photographs, tin foil, margarine lids, macaroni, and the like. But, they are like silver and gold to me!
A slim artificial tree in the living room holds fragile glass ornaments. Each of the boy’s rooms has a themed tree suited for their interests — just 3-4 feet tall. Some years, I also decorate a pencil tree in the finished game room with a ski lodge theme to match the decor.
Most of the trees, lights and decorations are stored in the attic. An attic not easily accessible and not designed to be weight-bearing. Several years ago, hubby said, “no more Christmas trees!”
But my collection of fragile peacock and other ornaments continued to grow… (more…)
