One of my great pleasures was making high school senior recognition, prom and graduation party decorations for my sons.
Breaks my heart thinking of this year’s grads and their families. But, it’s inspiring seeing so many students, parents, teachers and administrators finding unique ways to celebrate and make graduation special.
Today, I’ll show you how to make a tabletop graduation party decoration using photographs. Although I made mine primarily as centerpieces, they also look great on a mantle, buffet or accent table.
Using pictures of the graduate personalizes the decorations. After the party, they also make wonderful keepsakes for the grad, mom and dad, and grandparents.
Even if you can’t host a big blowout this year, you might be able to have a more modest sized gathering of family and friends later this summer. And, party or no party, the photo stand ups create a festive environment in the home. If you must social distance from your grandchild or other favorite grad, consider making one as a gift. Then drop it at their front door, or send it off in the mail as a special surprise.

For a little whimsy, I’m sharing a floral fascinator that’s easy to make, with inexpensive materials you may already have at home.
It’s the third in a trio of tutorials on how to create unique and fun headpieces or party toppers.
All three millinery designs were made to stock the Mad Hatter’s Trunk Show, where 16 guests chose a fascinator to compliment their fashionable attire. Each then posed for posterity in the party photo booth.
It was in celebration of my milestone Alice in Wonderland, Unbirthday Party.
Today’s floral fascinator project is part of a huge craft blog hop organized by Chloe of Celebrate and Decorate. If you’re looking for some creative ideas and inspiration, you’re bound to find it here! Twenty-five bloggers from all over the country are participating in this crafting celebration.
Thanks to all for stopping by! And, a special welcome to those coming from Create with Cynthia and her cute stenciled handkerchief.

Today, I want to share the volunteer effort my niece took on. She’s become a homemade mask making machine! I’m so very proud of her. By telling her story, I’m hoping to motivate others who can also chip in by sewing, or donating supplies and funds.
Many people are helping in ways both large and small. Some, like Mr. Buzz, have donated much-needed blood.
For many of us, doing our part means staying home as much as possible, taking care of each other, and protecting our health so not to become a burden on others.
Because of our age group, that’s mostly what retired hubby and I have been doing for nearly six weeks now. Since we can no longer volunteer, we support our community by making financial contributions to the food bank, and other efforts to help those most adversely impacted by the pandemic.
Through Debbee’s Buzz, I’m trying to communicate a sense of community, to offer a pleasant distraction, and ways to keep productivity occupied. I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to, and how you’re doing.

Working on an arts and craft project puts me in a happy state of mind. During the virus crisis, a pleasant distraction is especially needed to relieve stress, boredom and to help fill the hours of being homebound.
Regular followers know I am a maker. I enjoy the creative process, crafting with all types of materials, and the sense of fulfilment when completing a project.
Today’s post is a cross section of some of the many and varied projects I’ve shared. All were built around a theme — whether its a holiday, season, or special occasion.
Some projects are more assembly than crafting, and require no special artistic ability or skill. Many are full-blown tutorials with step-by-step, illustrated instructions and helpful tips. Others reference earlier posts for technique details.
Perhaps you could use this time to work on projects for an upcoming celebration or party? Or, how about making a birthday, housewarming, graduation, new baby or wedding card or gift? And, there’s always that holiday or seasonal decoration there was never time for before. Think of it as art therapy!

Today is a roundup of 12 27 fun to fabulous napkin folds I’ve used styling tables for a variety of holidays, occasions and parties.
It’s not the St. Patrick’s Day theme post I planned.
Originally, I wanted to share our upcoming Ireland vacation itinerary, including details of the 10-day organized tour. Hubby and I also added five days on our own to explore the home towns and villages of many of his Irish ancestors. It’s to be a bucket list trip, and the fruit of my many years of genealogy study and research.
But, with the virus pandemic and worldwide emergency, I suspect our summer vacation to the United Kingdom is unlikely — at least when scheduled.
Instead, while we are all social distancing, I thought you might enjoy a little diversion. Because this too will pass, and then we’ll all want to return to normal, gathering together to celebrate holidays and special occasions.
