Last week I shared, A Tweet Tablescape to Welcome Spring, which included a napkin folded into the shape of a dramatic bloom. Today, I’ll show how you can easily recreate the same flower napkin fold.
Not only does the 12-petal flower napkin look great on a spring or summer table, but think how lovely it would be for a bridal shower or wedding reception. The DIY fold is an inexpensive way to impress guests and add some “wow” to any gathering.
There’s no need for a napkin ring, ribbon or ties to create the pretty flower — just napkins, glasses and a little elbow grease!
Candidly, the flower is probably the most involved napkin fold I’ve tried over the past couple of years. But, I was able to get figure it out after just a couple of tries — and so will you!
To make it easy, I’ve illustrated each of the four steps in making the flower napkin fold. I’ve also included a couple of tips for more easy handling of the folds and petals. With a few minutes of practice, you’ll quickly get the hang of it.

Do you ever pull out your holiday decorations to discover some looking worn, broken or needing repairs? And, I’m not just talking about lights not working, LOL! Before packing them away last year, I finally got around to updating and refreshing my Christmas wreaths.
That amounted to 12 faux evergreen wreaths in need of some degree of holiday love. Ten hang from ribbon on windows in the front of our Georgian Colonial style home. One larger Christmas wreath adorns the front door.
Most are exposed to harsh winter elements — wind, snow, rain, ice and strong sun exposure. Dry rot is another problem; from storage in the attic. Over time, ribbon and bows fade, become stiff, crack and tear. Florist wire rusts. And, faux evergreen wreaths begin to drop needles like live greens.
Tastes change too. Or, the color paint on the front door, shutters or house.
But, who has the time or inclination in late November and early December to redo Christmas wreaths and other decorations? Bah humbug! The “secret” to finding the time, is to work on the Christmas wreaths — post-holiday — to ready for the following year. It’s also when you can take advantage of great sales on materials.

As part of last week’s holiday tablescape hop, I shared a peek of the Christmas cocktail ornament balls that accompanied the Twas the Night Before Christmas Eve Table.
Today, I’ll show you two fast and easy methods to make your own festive drink ware for holiday merry making.
One is really just a shopping list. Minor crafting and assembly is all the other approach takes. Both are easy peasy, inexpensive to make, and require little time and effort.
I promise they’ll be a big hit with family and friends during the holiday season. Last year, my adult sons were so impressed with the Christmas cocktail ornament balls, they snapped pictures to text to their friends.
But you can use them for kids of all ages, even serving non-alcoholic beverages if you’d like. Perhaps a cranberry sparkler for the children, and something with a bit more punch for the grownups?

As part of the We Gather Together Thanksgiving Blog Hop, I’m sharing the family photo place cards that will show who sits where for the feast.
As I mentioned in, Pumpkin Patch Table for Thanksgiving Brunch, I’ll be setting three tables for the holiday meal. That’s to accommodate 16 family members coming by plane and car (but not by boat lol!) to celebrate with us.
So, to add a little humor and personalize each place setting, family member faces were added onto pilgrim and Native American figures.

In this post, I illustrate how I decorated a chandelier in my dining room for the fall season.
It follows the same basic process as the kitchen light fixture; outlined in Decorate a Chandelier for Fall in 3 Easy Steps.
I pull out the garlands and embellishments around mid September and leave both decorated chandeliers up through Thanksgiving.
A few key differences between the light fixtures impact the design and materials used.
The decorated chandelier in the dining room is brass, versus a painted one in the open kitchen. It’s also a much more formal setting. And, the brass chandelier has two tiers of candles, with nearly double the number of arms.
