by Debbee | Oct 11, 2019 | Decorations, Fall, Halloween
With fall arriving so late again this year, I’ve had to hurry-up and get Halloween stuff out of storage and decorate the house. I also added spooky elements to transition from a fall to Halloween chandelier in the kitchen.
Underlying the spine-tingling look, is the Decorate a Chandelier for Fall in 3 Easy Steps from last year.
I’ve embellished the light fixture to accompany a Skeleton at the Feast table set beneath it. It’s all part of this month’s Halloween Tablescape Blog Hop, when I join twenty other stylists presenting festive to fearless seasonal interpretations.
My decorated Halloween chandelier and tablescape offer both tricks and treats for guests at the feast!
Adding a skeleton, skulls and bones is a fast and easy way to create a little campy fun.
Let me show you how I did it.

Just in time for fireworks, I’ve set a patriotic July Fourth table on the covered back porch.
It’s good to bee back in the country to celebrate our nation’s birthday. Hubby and I have recently returned from a nearly three-week vacation in South America. It was a bucket list, post-retirement trip that was about two years in the making.
I’ve been on a blogging break since about the middle of May, after my dad went into hospice and passed in Florida. That was immediately after my niece’s wedding in Charleston (see Hand Painted, Wedding Champagne Flutes).
Although it’s been an extremely hectic two months, the vacation turned out to be good timing for processing my grief and beginning the healing process. We left for Peru and Ecuador, less than a week after my mom went back home. Dad would have absolutely loved all the birds and wildlife we saw up close and personal in the Galapagos Islands.
But, now it’s time to try to get back to normal routines.

Spring has finally sprung and there’s a lively bunny hop table set for brunch in my kitchen. It’s time to celebrate the change in seasons and Easter week.
I am absolutely loving having the entire month of April to enjoy Easter holiday decorations and tables around the house. Not to mention the warmer weather and flowers blooming everywhere. A little case of spring allergies is worth the price!
Last weekend was spent visiting with family in Northern Virginia; during the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Hubby, his brother M, and our eldest son, ran the 10-mile race at the Capital. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful blooms around the Tidal Basin, as we cheered on the runners. Have you ever been to D.C. to see the cherry blossoms?
For those in the west and plain states who experienced a second winter cyclone; my heart goes out to you! Those winds looked ferocious. We feel quite fortunate that the weather was near perfect for our Breathtaking Breckenridge, Colorado Ski Trip.
Here in Pittsburgh, there are leaping, climbing and exercising hares aplenty on the bunny hop table. And, a few overly rambunctious rabbits landed cottontail-up in the cupcakes!

Forsythia, daffodils and hyacinth are starting to bloom in Pittsburgh and it’s finally starting to really feel like spring. Hurrah! A perfect time to take you on an Easter home decor tour.
Last year, Easter came so early, I never had a chance to share any of my holiday and seasonal decor. In fact, other than setting tables and hanging wreaths, I never pulled out any of the rabbits, chicks, eggs and florals that usually populate the house.
Today, I’m delighted to take part in the Hop into Easter blog hop. Hosted by Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home, there’s so much to see and be inspired by! You’re sure to find at least an idea or two to incorporate into your own Easter home decor and tables.
Welcome to Debbee’s Buzz for those dropping by from Carol’s How to Use Bunnies post at Bluesky at Home. And to my regular followers, thank you for once again taking the time to visit. I have so much stuff, it’s going to be impossible to cover it all in just one post! So, join me for a few highlights of my Easter home decor and table settings.

Feeling a bit nostalgic, I’ve set a vintage Easter table in the formal dining room. I’ve incorporated tableware and linens passed down from both sides of my husband’s and my families, along with a recent find of soft pink, hobnail goblets.
A chocolate rabbit centerpiece, eggs and guest favors are a nod to my grandmother, who made and sold homemade Easter treats.
I’m so glad Easter is late this year! Not only does that provide a little space between other holidays, it also improves the chance of better, more spring-like weather here in Pittsburgh.
It just doesn’t feel like Easter without forsythia, daffodils and tulips blooming.
It’s April 1st as I compose this post, and this morning we awoke to a light dusting of snow — argh! A bad April Fool’s joke?
Today’s post is part of the Easter Tablescape Blog Hop, hosted by Chloe of Celebrate & Decorate. All this week, my fellow table stylist are sharing their creations.

by Debbee | Mar 26, 2019 | Easter, Favorite stores
Right before heading out-of-town for an extended St. Patrick’s Day weekend, I visited a couple favorite local places to see what’s new in spring decor.
If you are a regular reader of Debbee’s Buzz, you know I already have a ton of holiday and seasonal decor and tableware.
Not only is storage space in critical supply, but so is display space. I’m nearly at the point that if I buy or make something, well then something else really needs to bee parted with. Easier than it sounds!
I came home from the stores empty handed; deciding to weigh on a few items while on the car ride to and from NYC and Philadelphia.
But, I thought you might like to do a little virtual shopping with me; for your own Easter and spring decor ideas and inspiration.
