Whimsical Christmas Wreath
Today’s post features an elf Christmas wreath, I’ve named after a very old and dear buddy of mine.
This is the second post on Christmas wreaths I made for my sons.
See the first, Bringing Home the Christmas Tree DIY Wreath.
For both wreaths, I followed a similar, five-step process using deco mesh techniques. I share a supply list, as well as instructions, tips and photos to help you follow along the production process.
Let me begin with the inspiration for the elf Christmas wreath and it’s name, Elmer the Elf.
For that, I have to tell you a magical Christmas story of old. Elmer has been part of my family’s Christmas tradition for over half a century.

Today I’m sharing a Christmas tree DIY wreath created for my son who lives in a Manhattan condo. I had to wait until he received it in the mail first, so I wouldn’t spoil the surprise. I’ll also show you the share the Elmer the Elf Christmas Wreath DIY made for my younger son living in Philadelphia.
I’ve named this wreath, Bringing Home the Christmas Tree. Can you see why?
The same basic construction steps and similar materials were used as the wreaths featured in Bewitching DIY Halloween Wreath and DIY Trick or Treat Halloween Wreath.
As I explained in those posts, deco mesh techniques can easily be applied to any holiday or theme wreath.
I provide a quick overview of the materials used, where I got them, tips and photos — in case you’d like replicate the wreath design.

This year, after repainting the front door black, I decided it needed a new Halloween wreath with a lot of color.

After crafting three bee-themed wreaths to decorate for a French Queen Bee Favored Things Party, I decided to conjure up something using the same deco mesh techniques.
