Revisiting last year’s My Favorite Things Party, and sharing Tiffany theme party favors perfect for a birthday or bridal shower.
I recently realized, that I haven’t done a single post on the third party. Brunch at Debbie’s was based on the move, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and was simply mahvelous!
It was about a year ago — before I started blogging — that Susan featured the event on Between Naps on the Porch. The post, A Fabulous “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Brunch Event (and her reader’s positive response), is what led me to start Debbee’s Buzz last fall.
I’ve decided to mix up blog posts on all four My Favorite Things Parties, so no one tires on any one theme. I promise to return to more of the Alice in Wonderland, Unbirthday Party Reveal next week, with How to Make Whimsical Teacup Fascinators.
So dahlings, let me show you around the Debbie & Co. boutique.

I thought you might enjoy seeing peacock party favors, gifts and prizes from the second annual, My Favorite Things Party.
The theme of the party was Birds of a Feather, Gather Together.
Pretty Peacock Invitation for My Favorite Things Party is the only post I’ve had time to put together on the event so far. Although I did share Exotic Peacock Tablescape Graces Formal Dining Room, which included some theme decor and tableware for entertaining. Eventually, I also plan to feature the menu, decorations, games and activities, and gift exchange. Catch-up posting as fast as I can!
If you follow Debbee’s Buzz, you know I have a peacock passion that even extends to Decorating for Christmas with a Peacock Theme. So, it was easy to come up with the second party’s theme.
I had a great time shopping for prizes and gifts, and crafting peacock party favors.

I recently created a mesh sailboat wreath for my sister B’s home in Charleston, S.C.
Like my sister-in-law L’s Ladybug Wreath Bridges Seasons, B and her husband had moved to downsize.
B also wanted a wreath that wasn’t too big, and could decorate her front door for multiple seasons.
Additionally, B had admired and coveted a summer wreath I created that hangs at the peak of my covered porch. The grapevine wreath is dominated by an 18-inch sailboat, supported by a large circumference base. Too big for B’s front door.
Living in Charleston on the water, and married to an experienced sailor, a nautical theme was agreed to. And to coordinate with B’s new porch furniture and pillows, aqua was chosen as the accent color. So off I went, in search of the perfect ribbon and a smaller sailboat.

For a Birds of a Feather Gather Together party theme, I created a beautiful peacock invitation with vintage imagery. The event was the second My Favorite Things Party.
I’m still playing catch up posting details from events that preceded launching Debbees Buzz last fall. Right now, I’m planning and crafting for the fourth party, an Alice in Wonderland, Unbirthday.
A peacock theme is popular for weddings and bridal showers. Brides incorporate the color scheme and feathers into everything! You can find great ideas for bridesmaid dresses, floral arrangements, hair pieces, favors, and even wedding cakes.
But, today I’m going to show how you can easily create a peacock invitation for any special occasion.

I’ve been working on a number of DIY projects lately, and decided to share a seasonal ladybug wreath made for my sister-in-law (L).
While celebrating Thanksgiving in Washington this past fall, L and her husband (M) surprised us with two pieces of exciting news.In addition to a pending retirement, they had decided to downsize from a large home to a one-story house. The new home would still be near family and able to accommodate overnight visitors, but allow them to easily age in place.
With exceptionally nice fall weather, hubby and I were able to tour the model house, peruse color and finish selections, and see their lot. I just loved the floor plan and Northern Virginia community.
It planted a seed in the back of my mind too, and now I have a bit of a “bug” for a new house! We have lived in the same home we had built as newlyweds. And although we’ve done a lot of improvements and remodeling, it will never have an open, single story floor plan with high ceilings. But, we’ll stay right where we are, until the boys are married and settled somewhere.
Now that M and L have moved into their lovely new abode, let me share the ladybug wreath with bee skep I made for their front door.
